ORMC Hosting Free Men's Health Event at Westlake Ace Hardware

Odessa Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is hosting a free event to promote men’s health and early detection at Westlake Ace Hardware Friday, November 30, 2018.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4652 East University Boulevard in Odessa, Texas.

ORMC will be cooking free lunch and providing free men’s health screenings, including lab work and a GI screening questionnaire, to those who attend. Men who get a health screening will also receive a 10 percent discount off their purchase at Westlake Ace Hardware.

Health care professionals from ORMC will be providing free lab work that will include a lipid panel, thyroid, good/bad cholesterol, triglycerides, PSA and A1C tests.

ORMC is hosting the event to raise awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the top causes of death among adult men in the U.S. are heart disease, cancer, unintentional injuries, chronic lower respiratory disease and stroke.

Regular health screenings can help men detect certain diseases and conditions early on. Making healthy choices including regular exercise, a healthy diet, quitting smoking and minimizing stress can all reduce your risk of health problems.
